I need advice on the best way to handle a little clean up.  A customer account shows 1001 as a Package and then 1002 as Work Comp and that's it.  1001 has attachments, and 1002 also has attachments that are different.  I want to get rid of 1002 since this is a monoline policy but also want to preserve the attachments.

Removing the 1002 bill screen won't delete the attachments but it does make it so you can't filter only the 1002 attachments.  Worse yet if you add 1002 back as say a Gen Liab policy now the WC and GL attachments are linked to the same bill screen.

Thanks John.  That's what I thought but wanted to double check.

I believe (now using Vision, so cannot be positive) the way to correct this is to first change the -001 to the type code you need to have, such as WC - then delete to -002 billing screen.  If my memory is correct (always suspect), this makes the apps that were done under the WC stuff available with the -001 screen.

Not sure about other types of "attachments" than the apps.

Why not use the Move Policy utility?  Move the WC to 2001 then you can do whatever you need to.

That's what I was looking at doing at first but there are attachments on 1002 that are different from the attachments on 1001 and I wanted to make sure they all stayed linked together.  I can't think of how to use the Move Policies that would accomplish this.  Do you know of a way?

I can't think of a way to move the attachments if they don't follow the policy along with the activities, etc.  Maybe Applied should look into a Move Attachment utility.

Possible suggestion.  Set up (if you don't have one already) a "test" file.  Recreate the problem you have with PKG as -001, WC as -002, attachments on both, apps on both.

Then try out the move policy (make -002 a new -001) and see if the attachments follow?
