Anyone ever heard of TDU Surety?

There is a January direct deposit in in our checking account from "TDU PT Surety Commission" for $30.00 and I cannot figure out what it is.  I googled TDU Surety and all I get is Tree Density Unit stuff.  If there is a company called TDU, they're not anywhere near the top of the google list.  I have not received a statement for a $30.00 amount so I am stumped.  It may get recorded as misc. income if I can't find out what it is.  The bank was no help as that was all they had in their record.

Maybe TDU = Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU)  PT - ?... was any work done for a utility or municipal something-or-other where a bond was written?  (just guessing here)

Wow, you're correct.  Google not finding TDU Surety or PT Surety.  And I don't see anyone on the Treasury listing that would seem to fit.

At least they sent you $ instead of taking it out of your account!

That amount smells a LOT like a license bond or possibly a sales tax bond.  Can you check with your Producers/CSR's about having recently issued one, which may shed a little light on this?

Try running a production report and see if you can spot an account with the $30 commission?

I agree, Billy - I didn't see anything either which leads me to believe that TDU and PT are not referring to a "surety" company name.... but perhaps a municipal something-or-other that a client was involved with that a separate bond or something similar needed to be written...

I asked the commercial CSR if they'd written anything with a new company and no, that's not it.  Nobody's informed me that our checking account information was given to any insured to pay, either.  There is only one insured who pays via direct deposit, and this was not them.  It's not the premium trust account, it's the operating account, so I'm really stumped as to what it is.  It may just go to "miscellaneous income" since it's only $30.
