Ok, I'm in a client trying to add a new policy. The Select a Policy Number screen came up and is defaulting to 4. I don't want 4 because it's been used before so I want 9. I entered 9 and the "ok" button remains greyed out. I entered 10 and the "ok" button is available. Why won't it let me use 9? I tried it on another client and it let me choose 9 there. What's up with this client that I can't choose 9?
Perhaps reboot and see if it fixes..
You may have to run the utility that synchronizes those numbers.
Maybe someone added #9 and then deleted it.

I didn't know there was one for this. What is it called? Oh, I think I just found it, is it the one under General called Compute Numbers?
In the separate utility manager: General - Policy Maintenance - Recompute POL_INFO Field.
Also check your POLICY.DBF, you may find it in there with no Agency or Branch number and "~NEW" noted against it - we get this from time to time, I think system or PC crashes halfway thru policy creation and full record doesn't get set up. I had one earlier this week by coincidence, just edited the DBF (yes, I know...) and fixed it.

Oh I see it. Thanks Hans. I guess I've never had a need to run it before or if I did it was so long ago I don't remember.

Thanks Andrew. I will check that out.
