So I'm working on setting up a couple new comps, and as such have new Dell 22 (technically 21.5) inch widescreens. Nice monitors but unfortunately for us Vision users that are locked to 800x600...whats my options as far as resolutions? If I run the native res Vision will be the size of an index card.

Any utilities that could help me out with this somehow?

Looks like 1600x900 is as close to a normal res as I can get with the screen useable.

We have similar issues - we try running 24" at full HD res - works for some, but a lot of staff don't understand the reasoning behind high res and abhor the small text.  We run a lot of these at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 with decent results.  I guess when it's that big, clarity is not super important.

Actually I just played around with the Nvidia control panel, and was able to add a 720p resolution to the list - 1280x720, and it works pretty well! Pretty close to the 800x600 height with the width added, its a supported resolution and the progressive scan makes it sharp as a tack. I can work with this!

Edit: Added the pic of Vision at full res - kinda funny at the size of a cd case!

For kicks I turned one monitor upright and rotated it...just as the boss walked by. Ever see someone's eyes pop out about 5 inches? LOL.

720p res is awesome on these...plenty readable, and I found depending on what you're doing, you can tile up to 4 apps side-by-side and its not bad!

Just don't do it with sub windows open in Vision...wow...kinda artistic in a demented sorta way, thanks to Vision using seperate windows for the icon bars.

(To tile/cascade, right-click on start menu and select Tile or Cascade - the tile options are sorta backwards, "tile vertically" puts apps side-by-side whereas tile horizontally has them one above the other.)

EDIT: As a workaround to the tile vertically issue and Vision, you can hold down CTRL and select only what apps you want tiled, THEN right-click and select "tile vertically".
