Emails received are looking all "wonky"

Some (not all) of our HTML emails are being received as plain text, and when received are all wonky and impossible to read. This seems to be a microsoft issue only with Vista and Server 2008 (we newly installed Server 2008).

Some of the blogs say it is because of the anti virus programme, and our tech doesn't think our Kaspersky is the cause.

Has anyone run into this and is there a fix?

Is it possible that they're UUencoded somehow?  The fact that you mention that plain text emails are some form of gibberish makes me wonder.

Spoke to our tech - he has checked this out already. Not the issue apparantly. He says it is a "known" issue and involves emails that are Bcc. Then the jibberish occurs.

Very interesting.  And possibly embarrassing if the recipient of the BCC is ever revealed.

To finish this off, here is a copy and paste from my tech who sorted it out.....

Hi Mike

Well it only happens when someone sends email and only puts addresses in the BCC field and nothing in the To field, Outlook sees this as suspicious and marks the email plain text so that malicious code doesn't run when opened, that said standard practice would be to put their own email address in the To field and everyone else in the Bcc field, I can't believe that there are that many people out there that don't do this but anyway, Microsoft has fixed this in an update by inserting "undisclosed recipients" in the To fields when it sees a blank address,  problem is that they don't explain what update anywhere that I could find so I had to install all available updates for Office 2003 and it worked.
