Can I ping FROM a sonicwall?  I expected to see the option on the diagnostics page, but it is not an option!  I am trying to figure out if and where an IP might be blocked.  I don't see it in the firewall anywhere and I don't see any log entries related ot it, but the school I volunteer at can't view their own website (or edit it for that matter!).

I'm not sure what's up here, and the ability to ping from the sonicwall would help me in troubleshooting.

Thanks!

while i'd still like to know what's up with SonicWall and no ping in diagnostics, the issue I was troubleshooting was on the hosting end.

That was my guess (assuming by "split DNS" you mean hosting the .tld DNS internally in AD for Exchange reasons) but when I removed exchange, I did remember to remove the tld zone.  So what I thought was a 5 second fix, was me kicking myself for ever purchasing a SonicWall again. lol

Did you try under tools tab?  There is a drop down box for ping utility.

@Kenny -- I don't have a tools tab...

And no, they don't have support/maintenance/paid for services.

Mark,
Here is what I have for TZ210

Under Systems go to diagnostics and then pull ping from the drop down menu.  Should look like mine with enhanced OS.  I have attached screen shot

Dude, you must be bored!  Or, you don't like the title of "Lurker" ;)

I did find that.  I think that in all my frustrations, I didn't expect to see it in a drop down menu.

Thanks for the detailed response!

Might be detailed but not quick enough.  Sorry I did not look before.  Am I still a lurker?

Yep.  You obviously aren't spending enough time at the Water Cooler.
