What is the best way to get all iTunes and pictures off of a laptop that is going to be retired?

It is my boss' personal laptop and he wants to copy all to a disk or usb. I have copied pictures before, but not music. Do I need to copy the iTunes program, or just the files.

Thanks!

Bob

I am assuming pictures you talking about the album covers to go along with music.

To answer question just the files.  Encoded with user account.  Two ways of activating on new computer once moved.   Can just double click on song and it will prompt for account in iTunes or you can authorize that computer.  Copy all the files some place and in iTunes click "File" and add folder to library.  It will add all songs and subfolders to the new iTunes account.

Little trick when you mess up your existing library, it's never deleted.  It breaks the path to the folder holding music.  You think lost it all but only the folder path.  Browse back to my music, itunes and add and it all reappears.  Don't let any Apple gadget scare you that you may lose the files.
