A mailbox was added to our exchange 2007, but the corresponding user account was not added to Active Directory. The ipohone and ipad connected just fine.  The mailbox was deleted and then readded with the user account in active directory.

Now I cannot get the ipad or iphone to find the user. The ipad/iphone finds the mailer server but will not connect to the user account. I have deleted the account from the iphone/ipad and added again.

Any ideas?

Is the box checked in AD to hide from the address list?

No - but that was good. My assistant, who does not know much about exchange, added the account while I was on vacation.

Is it possible this just takes time? I have checked all the settings 3 times.

Yeah, sometimes I think there is a refresh period for this.  I don't recall when I have experienced it in the past or what I did to fix it, but I know it's happened to me before.  :(

Do mailbox rights and all the other Exchange related settings look correct in AD?  Features are enabled, and email address actually exists? ;)  I'm still on Exchange 2003 and am just assuming that you're on a newer version because I know you, lol.

Does going into ESM and right-click refresh on the Global Address List do anything?  I'm not sure if that is just a refresh for the ESM screen or if it actually causes it to refresh.

Lastly -- have you tried to access this mailbox via Outlook?

Outlook and OWA work. Settings are right in active directory.

Don't try to make me feel bad because I like to get newer versions. (but it driving me absolutely crazy that I have not upgraded to office 2010)

Could this have anything to do with mxlogix?

Do you do the AD sync with them?  I have been afraid to go that route.  I don't think it would be related to MX Logic because you are still connecting directly to your Exchange server -- UNLESS you are putting the smart host address for MX Logic into the iPad (which would be incorrect).

You could try restarting Exchange services and/or just wait until tomorrow and see if it shows up.

Office 2010 is not as nice as 2007 in my opinion.  I don't like the File menu change.  I am using Outlook 2010, but default all other Office programs to 2007 still.  I do have both versions installed.

Now I am jealous.

By the way, it started working. It must be some sort of timing issue. I say that because I was looking on the internet for solutions and it started beeping that it received mail.
