Most VoIP phone systems have something to do this... as does Teams.

It's been a while, and I dont know what it was about the TAM IN/OUT but I really like it !

You dodged a bullet there on the RAID 5.  2 drives lost on most RAID5 arrays = complete failure!  Depending on the setup and if you have the physical space, you can often times have the spare in the server and on standby and then when failure occurs the RAID will disable the bad drive and bring the spare online.

For those who are still looking, this one appears to be pretty good:  ONLYOFFICE

ONLYOFFICE.COM should get you there.  It now includes PDF editing.  So far it has done well with my Excel spreadsheets.

I don't link to TAM anyway so nothing was lost there.

Finally, after four years or more.  Found the teeny little tick box to undo.  It was known to be a TAM activity thing, but where and how?

Tools, user setup options, settings, timer setup, update open activity = uncheck this (or possibly give it some huge interval that I don't care to try out).

This does appear to get TAM2014 to not error out constantly on Windows10 (and Win2K8R2 server).

I may have to revisit this, but so far it has continued to work.  I guess if one's day depends on open activities, this may not be a great solution.

Quote from: Hans Manhave on July 29, 2020, 05:45:29 PMYet one more issue.  Possibly a network interface problem?  "Could not read at least 8 bytes at offset 0 in "G:\TAM\TFILE_W.NDX": Error 59: An unexpected network error occurred.

The card does not go to sleep, neither does the computer, no screen saver.  I set the network card speed to 1Gb up/down instead of "auto".

Anything else to adjust?  I have no idea yet if the above has now fixed it.  It seems to happen when the user is away from the terminal.

Problem corrected.  Two RAID5 drives replaced.  One dead, one about to be dead.  Have another spare ready when needed.  RAID1 is fine, but also now have a spare for it.

This is an iDRAC 6 Express v.1.54.  :)

It lists Batteries, Fans, Intrusion, Power Supplies, Temperatures, Voltages.  All those pass.

I opened the front lid of the unit and it appears that one drive is permanently on the blink (literally blinking!).  It appears to be drive #5 out of five.

Guess I best find out what drive model it is and see about acquiring a good one promptly.

I believe these things are hot swappable.

My drives have lights you can tell from that.  Also you should log into the idrac and go to raid it should give more explanation of what is going on.  You can also make the drive blink and see how they are numbered. idrac should tell you everything you need to know.

I (finally) noticed that I have a red/orange message on the LCD display on the unit:

Storage Drive 4.  Drive Slot sensor for Storage, drive fault was asserted

Having an old Windows XP with its Internet Explorer enabled me to still log into the iDRAC device.

T710 is working fine being a server, just don't know how to verify if the RAID has the 4th (or is it 5th physical, if it starts at 0??) is really bad or just had a hickup?

Supposedly this happened on 4/11/24, but I don't believe there was a red display at that time plus, I don't know what the actual time reference is (today, 30 days late etc).

Any thoughts on verification will be helpful and appreciated.  I know the machine can assert a lot of things that just go away such as power supply sensor failure (I have spares) but they don't even last a second every other month or so.

Thanks for your time.

We use visitly to track visitors for our state of NY compliance.  You can also track employee in out in there but we don't.  I know Zoom has started offering something similar I may look into that since we use them as our phone system. https://www.visitly.io/

Our agency relies heavily on the TAM employee in/out to see at a glance when anyone is in or out and when they expect to be back. Epic doesn't have this I don't think. What are agencies using for this kind of tool when going to Epic.

TIA
