Title: Upgraded to Excel 2016 on Tam 11...
Post by: Pedro Catalan on November 03, 2015, 07:36:55 PM
Now TAM won't open excel because it cant find the excel.exe file. Where do I go and tell TAM where the new version of Excel is? I know the path, just don't know where it goes in TAM.

Thank you,

I'm not sure if your version of TAM works with that version of Excel.  But what I could try is to run the following:
(TAM drive letter) F:\wintam\tamini /r
then
(TAM drive letter) F:\wintam\tamclient /rr
and see if that helps. Possibly even rename the wintam folder on the c: drive to wintamold or something first.

Sorry, I meant to reply to this sooner but got sidetracked.

You want to edit a line in your WINTAM.ini file to point to the new Excel.exe file.

Look for this line in C:\WINTAM\WINTAM.ini:
SpreadsheetExecutable=C:\PROGRA~2\MICROS~2\Office14\EXCEL.EXE

And change the "office14" part to whatever folder is for your version.  16 maybe?  I'd just check in the program files folder and see what I got.

I don't see any reason why it will not work.
