Title: Drivers for HP 1100A and Windows 7
Post by: DebAmstutz on November 26, 2014, 01:42:52 PM
Are there print drivers that will enable an HP1100A printer/copier/scanner to be used with Windows 7 OS?  There are a couple of us who still have these workhorses and our tech is telling us we cannot use them if our workstation OS is changed to Windows 7.  Is that true?

Also, are there adapters available that will bridge the old connections into USB connections in newer workstations?  These HPs are so reliable and are so good with toner use that we would really like to keep them around until they truly die.

Deb,

I do believe there are adapter cables put there http://www.staples.com/Staples-USB-Parallel-Printer-Adapter/product_837521 (http://www.staples.com/Staples-USB-Parallel-Printer-Adapter/product_837521)

There is also the option of an HP Print Server that would connect the printer to the network.  The servers connect to the printer via the standard cable, and have a network jack to connect the server to the network.  We were using these with some old HP's and they worked great.
