Title: Sircon charge - what's it for?
Post by: DebAmstutz on July 15, 2014, 10:33:12 AM
I'm asking this here because I received one email back from Sircon which did not answer my question and no reponse to a second email regarding the answer that was not an answer.

We received an invoice from Sircon for $1.34 for a PDB inquiry in June.  What is a PDB inquiry?  I've not ever received an invoice from Sircon before, and we renew a lot of our licenses through them.

Database inquiry? All our license info runs through them now, including charges on CE classes. Maybe someone looked to verify a license on someone? They may handle other professional licenses too, which may have been checked for underwriting a client risk, perhaps.

There never used to be a charge just to look something up.  Would this be due to Vertafore owning Sircon now?  If that's the case, that's just bad customer service on top of bad customer service from Vertafore (probably why my second email didn't get answered).

They were not my favorite.  The best was when we renewed a license through them for a fee, had to wait for the state to issue, and if that took more than 30 days well then you had to pay them $5.00 to print your license :P

I used alternative methods/providers whenever possible to avoid Sircon.
