Title: Output SOI to File Error - Incompatible type and file extension
Post by: Lance Weaver on January 16, 2013, 06:04:38 PM
TAM in-house 10.4, MS Office 2010, Windows 7 workstation.

Trying to output a Summary of Insurance to a file.  In TAM, going to Customer, Policy List, click on OPTIONS button, then Summary of Insurance.  Grabbing a couple of policies and clicking on FILE for Ouput type.  Tried doing different policies on this client, all do the same thing.  Tried including or excluding Notepads, Remarks, also to no avail.  Can print or preview the output just fine, so error seems to just be with creating a file...

Anyone know what is causing this and what the fix is?

Don't have answer but if you're going to send to file and you can preview it, why not save there as file or print to PDF save step.  Why file?  Just curious..

Best workflow as they want to edit the doc immediately after creating.  Ended up being because Word 2010's default file save format was set to .DOC instead of .DOCX.  Changed to .DOCX and SOI will output to a file just fine.
