Title: Digital Signage
Post by: julie.klok on November 13, 2012, 02:38:58 PM
Is anyone doing something for digital signage in their office?  What product are you using?  I was looking at digitalsignage.com.  It sounds interesting and their basic option is free.  Does anyone have experience with them?  Any input is appreciated.  Thanks!

We are using an older version of these http://www.viewsonic.com/us/digital-signage/media-players.html (http://www.viewsonic.com/us/digital-signage/media-players.html).  Works very well for us - doing your basic "welcome" for clients & markets, and the birthdays and anniversaries are making it there as well.  You attach it to a spare monitor, put it on the network, then upload the content from your workstation.

Software is a little clunky, but once you get the hang of it, that's no big deal.  Ours is several years old - at the time there was not a good wireless option so we just ran a CAT5 drop for it.  It cannot handle animation; I am assuming the newer ones will.

Thanks Dana & Billy.  We are looking to do something more than this.  We are getting a monitor/tv in our lobby that we want to show announcements, but also include things like local weather or maybe a news feed.
