Title: Multiple agency question.. client entered under wrong agengy #
Post by: kthielepape on November 01, 2011, 02:40:04 PM
We have multiple agency's in our system... a client was created under the incorrect agency code.. is there a way to transfer or move to the correct agency code.. without deleting and reentering all the data?
Thanks

We have same and have encountered before.   I think as long as no open claims, no future apps, no unpaid or unreconciled items, as long as all that met I think you can just change agency when nobody in.  Been a while not sure if it was util in rename or if I just revised with my rights.   Wish I had solid answer but not something we do everyday and with everyone locked in the agency they belong, they can't make the mistakes anymore.  I even lock branches down to their branch they service nothing more.  Helped a lot in reducing accidents!

We were not able to do through utility.. but we moved client back to prospects.. deleted current client.. corrected the agency code and moved back to client.. and IT WORKED!

Why could you not change the agency number with the agency change utility?  I think the only thing that would prevent the agency number change would be an open transaction-something that has more or less than a zero balance.  I've not yet come across a client with an incorrect agency number that I couldn't change if there were no open transactions.

Utility Manager-General-Change Agency code

You have to log into Utility Manager outside of TAM to see this utility.

And Deb is right, can't have a balance.  There is some info in TAM's help file you probably want to read.  :)
