Title: Need new tech laptop
Post by: Jeff Golas on June 10, 2011, 09:59:00 AM
I guess after a few years its time to let my beloved Lenovo T60 take its retirement and get something new. Yes its been a while but I tend to stretch out the lifespan of these things and this laptop has been probably the best computer I've ever had.

That said - does anyone have a newer Lenovo that they love? I just rolled out an x series to a guy yesterday but I think I still want a normal sized laptop with a CD drive just yet.

Laptop would need to have Win 7 64 bit, be able to handle a ton of RAM and pretty much anything thrown at it.

I am sure you can find something there that suits your needs if this one isn't exactly what you're looking for.

You should at least give ASUS a look...  (not the netbooks as you ay you want a real laptop).

Would you believe I've had the same basic "box" for my workstation for the last 8 years?  Everyone else has had theirs replaced at least once and some twice in that timespan.  I did get a new CPU and hard drive and more RAM a few years ago, but that's about it.  I'm the only one in the office now who has a 3.5 floppy drive that is part of the "box".  I've not had to be cleaned of malware like nearly all other workstations have had done, and I don't have any extra stuff on the thing.  I think that helps. ;D
