Title: Dumb error fix
Post by: Jim Jensen on April 12, 2011, 01:51:43 PM
Ok, this isn't THE dumbest error fix I've seen in TAM, but close. I received a two byte code error while trying to move policies within a client. Here's the solution. It's works, but it involved a two-byte item that the user can't see and seems to be one of the dumbest "fixes", because you're not really changing any settings in the end. TAM just "thinks" you are.

Solution:

Revise through the policy type in Utilities, General, Policy Maintenance, Install Policy Types
Change the policy term default from what it is to something else.
Click ok and say yes to update the current policy types information.
Then change the policy term default back to what it was originally.
It will prompt you: Do you wish to update the current policy type's information?  Click Yes.  This will correct the error.

Yep.  Saw that one recently as well.  My guess is that the field structure was changed and this particular piece of data wasn't converted.  You just converted it manually.  Something to that effect, I'm sure.
