I would like to get Andy's / Applied's blessing for any verbatim Applied docs that get entered into the wiki.
It should likely be source referenced with a link back to Applied's website at least.

I just put in reference to the AS KB Article and Article number at bottom of document....will that work?
good for now... will wait and see if Andy has comment.

I'll be hiding under my desk if you need me.... :o
It's not a big issue - it's their doc, if they want it pulled, we pull it. Maybe just link to the KB article itself. It's not like we are trying to be malicious or sneaky.
Sorry...that didn't even cross my mind.
Maybe providing the KB article number as well as the link since there were times I've found broken links and havin KB number helped.
But even providing the link...since you have to sign in anyway....will it even take you directly to the Article?
Ok ... I'm glad to see the tide shifting in this direction. Didn't want to have to dust off the hammer and drop it. ;)
Let's clear this up:
1) KB articles are the intellectual property of Applied Systems (insert intellectual puns here).
2) They live behind the Applied Systems Client Portal for a reason - they are for Applied Systems clients only.
3) Providing a link to the KB article and number is acceptable. You will still have to sign in before reaching the article, but after entering your user/password it should take you to the article.
Remember, it's YOUR wiki and that's totally cool ... but it has to then be YOUR content. Applied Systems, like ANY other company, will go the distance to protect our "intellectual property." It's not mean or malicous, it's business.
Sorry to be the ants at your picnic.
~Andy
ps. Jan - you can come out from under your desk now. We're good.
Actually, our wiki does have some copyright disclaimer / instruction as follows:

Soooo...how does one "erase" a wiki? ???
Thought we discussed this long long ago when AU 1st deployed.. Why I've been watching and not commenting.. :)
Thought perhaps I misunderstood and was getting confused. Glad to see Rick and Andy clarify. ;)

No worries - you just edit. I've cleared out the contentious content... will work on getting something mutually agreeable put in there. Jan - it did look awesome, so I hope you're not discouraged.
Andy - I'm very sorry. In my quest to help others, I didn't think of the legal ramifications of what I was doing. If I posted it in the ASCnet forums, would that be wrong too?
I'll be more careful in the future.

Nah...no problem - it didn't take that long to do.... I find it "fun"....
My only issue with that Andy is that UK users don't have access to the KB. The UK licencee Insurecom doesn't offer an equivalent, hence I am very reliant on my colleagues in this forum. I would love to have a way of searching the KB directly, it would save me having to log some support calls.
Wait I'm confused... why don't you have access to the KB? The KB is on A$ soil not ASCnet's. Shouldn't you still have access to it????
No idea Charlie, had always assumed it was some sort of contractual thing.

Was Insurecom trying to move the UK users to their own product
Well, theye have developed their own system but they are still maintaining and supporting TAM until at least 2017 so I don't think that was a factor.
Thought I would split this out....
Good job Marie! Now there's a model mod in action.
I don't have time to post much anymore, but I'm still here 'modding' away (although
without the cool '70's look) - LOL
