Title: Want to insert initials of Contact
Post by: Drew Buckley on February 22, 2011, 10:54:02 AM
Hi
I need to insert the initials of a contact into a formletter, but the first name, middle initial and surname are all stored in one field. I know in theory I could use a string command as in extra criteria in reports to take the first letter from the left, the 30th (if that's what the middle initial is!) letter then the 31st letter for the surname initial from the contact field. However, how do I do this in Word?
any takers?!

I insert a Word user field - the user's initials are stored in the Word User information.  you can use these in Tam templates.
