Title: Virtualizing Server which Runs TAM
Post by: deb.landrum on December 16, 2010, 03:06:33 PM
My server that TAM runs on is 3 years old.  It has not given me any problems, however, it is at the point where I need to decide whether to go with a post warranty CarePak from HP or moving it into a Virtual environment.  I'm supposing that Applied does not support virtual environments, however, I am also pretty certain that I would not be the first to virtualize WinTam.

Does anyone know of any reasons to NOT migrate it to VM?

As long as your VM server meets the software specs, it should be fine.  They don't "officially" support anything on a VM server, but they usually help you out anyway.

We have been running it on a VM for months now.  No real problems to speak of.  And nothing fancy either - just using the basic functionality of Windows server 2008.

The best part is that once you have it running, you can create a copy for testing updates.

Yes - it's safe to say TAM runs virtualized just fine.
