Title: TAM 8.5 to 10.6
Post by: Mary Burger on November 18, 2010, 05:43:05 PM
Hello everyone!

I have a customer that I am upgrading from TAM 8.5 to 10.6 next Wednesday.  I am planning on doing the 9.0 update on the server and workstations, following the pre and post install instructions.  Do I need to install 9.4 prior to going to 10.0?

Then I plan on doing 10.0 and then 10.6, again following the recommended instructions.

Our server is only a few months old and all the workstations meet the hardware recommendations.

Do any of you have any words of wisdon, or are these pretty straight forward updates?

Thanks!

Here in the UK we had to go from 7.6 to 10.2, it went OK, just took a long time because each version has to be installed along the way. Worth doing because of the advantages of the 10 series.

I don't know if you NEED to but since you are making a big jump, I would rather error on the side of doing TOO much rather than not enough.  The upgrades run pretty quickly - unlike the old days when it was an entire weekend to go one step - so it really isn't that much more time added to the process.
