How do I set up the sending e-mail part of an sbcglobal.net account? I have the unit receiving, but I cannot figure out the sending.
This is for an iPad.
I googled, but don't find a clear and current explanation.
Thanks.
my recommendation would be - get a gmail account and tie all your required email accounts into that. That way you have global / secure access and you can consolidate multiple email accts in one place.
I appreciate the direction, I have had a GMail account for years. As well as some other accounts. However, this is not for me.
This is one of those occasions where we are handed a device and we are considered the expert to enable it. The iPad just looks like another big iTry to me, so that part is not a problem. Of course, I wouldn't mind receiving one myself, but otherwise, I still prefer a netbook, laptop or desktop. Most of these situations involve the owner of the device not even be present.
Putting it aside. Don't even know if the @sbcglobal.net account is even still working or should now be @yahoo.com or @att.net etc. Will reconsider when I have more time or info. Maybe I can get my hands on the iTry that this person have and take a look at those settings for same account.
I was aware that sbcglobal.net is no longer used by ATT, but I didn't know that it was still being rolled out. So sometime over the last few days this transformed into a Yahoo account.
ours at home is smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com I think... It's been yahoo for quite some time.
