I like it but any idea how it holds up under load?

Cool I can annoy people!

If SMF's own forums are any indication - I would say quite well.  Nearly 2 million posts, in a quarter million topics by 178000 users.  As I type this there are 900 active user sessions - the most ever being over 3700.  I have no idea what SMF is running on but it's probably nothing super fancy.

the IP for www.simplemachines.org traces back to http://www.gnax.net/ - so it could be a dedicated box or a colocated server.  I'll see if I can find any other details on large installations.

ok, bob annoying is not new for you.  How do I post directly under your post, so Rick doesn't think he's annoying? : :-\

you cannot post under another post, but you can click "quote" which makes it obvious what you are responding to.

if I am responding to a specific person - I click the quote in the reply - then you copy and paste the one your responding to?  Slow mind day today.

Hi, Bob.  Is this like Facebook without the extra personal pictures?

Hi, Bob.  Is this like Facebook without the extra personal pictures?

If you hit "quote" in the post your viewing it will capture all of it automatically.  You can choose to remove any text between the [:quote] .... [:/quote]

No need to copy and paste unless your hitting reply, not quote.  Reply opens a completely new post.

I think in these new forums we don't know where to post, so while we can break the rules we can post anywhere.  I see don't see you or your brothers pictures though!

Hey Dawn, you'd better watch out, I see I've been appointed as a moderator here!

(But don't heckle me in class at TENCon.  :'( )

no heckling - I even volunteered to help keyboarding in your class and do the survey sheets to help out!

OK thanks - don't think I'll need a keyboarder because I'll be typing field codes most of the time.
