How does one set the NTP server on a switch? I noticed mine had lost the settings which may be causing a problem.
I have the manual to the Dell 5548 switches. It is not hard to set it to a manual time but I would like to have it synchronize to an external NTP server. It demands an IP address unlike a name.

Here's some time servers you can use along with their respective IP addresses.

Most should be able to use a name as long as you also have DNS set up. If you have an internal domain controller that can act as your NTP as well.
I generally sync one NTP server to an outside source and then sync everything else to that one.

This is exactly what I do.
