Title: Callidus Software
Post by: Tom Fisher on May 12, 2020, 03:40:40 PM
Ok, so I have two different agency clients getting emails from Callidus Software with the subject "Callidus Software: New account registration".

Im guessing this has something to do with one of the carriers - but coming up empty on which one and what this registration is for ... anyone have a clue?

We did too.  Deleted them.  Sales product.  Blasting these to many agents.  Breaks every rule of security these days.  Unsolicited welcome email and link to an account and login from a stranger.

I was going to comment that it smelled like a "Nigerian Prince" in desperate need of "help" but deferred until someone could confirm that!

I'm wondering if this may be Indio related?

I mean it's legit sales software, they're owned by SAP ... but I just can't figure out why there are sending out these unexplained emails.  It's almost 'too hooky' from such a big company to be sales gimmick but thats probably what it is.

Our major carrier uses it. I haven't seen it but the girl that does commissions uses it at their site.

I have to think that this form or marketing probably gets more clicks and hits than any other form of marketing.  Free, immediate and with the unspoken assertion that there's no "catch" and you're going to get to see how the program works.  I wouldn't trust it, but I imagine a lot of people click on that link.
