Title: Open source gets it's own board
Post by: Bloody Jack Kidd on January 15, 2010, 03:29:09 PM
It has gotten to the point where open source deserves it's own board.  Many of the open source offerings are as mature as their commercial counterparts and often offer better performance and nearly always at a better price.  Open source is a not-always-accurate catchall for software that falls under a variety of licenses: BSD, GNU GPL, Creative Commons etc., many projects use their own slightly modified license.

Open source today offers nearly limitless potential to do more with your technology without huge cash outlay.
