Title: e-faxing vs. fax@vantage
Post by: Rick Bailey on May 29, 2015, 12:11:10 PM
Preliminarily, I apologize if this is in the wrong category. I wasn't sure whether this fits in fax@vantage or not, since I am not really asking about fax@vantage.

First the brief background: we run fax@vantage on a really old local server and TAM on a remote terminal server. In order to update to TAM 2014R2, we need to upgrade our fax server or lose fax@vantage capability. A new fax board will cost us on the order of $1,500 to $2,500, plus we have the ongoing expense of the fax line. I have looked into various e-faxing alternatives.

So here is the question: does anyone use any e-fax services (in particular RingCentral (pricing info here: http://www.ringcentral.com/plansandpricing/ringcentralfax.html (http://www.ringcentral.com/plansandpricing/ringcentralfax.html)) seems to be a good one) with TAM, especially on a remote server? If so, do they play nicely together?

Thanks in advance!

We have a service from our phone system company. (we dont use Fax@vantage.)
Basically you compose an email to 3175555555@fax.phonecompany.com  and hit send and it goes to them and they fax it then email us back the status report.  We can attach the email to tam and the status report.  So it works great.

We're in the same boat - the funny thing is the existing version of faxdisadvantage supports internet faxing, however the new version w/Epic does not.
