Anyone using any NAS solutions, either SOHO stuff for home,  or @ the office?

I'm running freeNAS at work on a Dell PE750 with a Highpoint RocketRAID HBA and a couple 1TB WD Caviar Greenies in RAID 1.  Pretty happy with that.

I've used FreeNAS and OpenFiler.  Either one is an excellent alternative to something like a Netgear ReadyNAS.

It's a shame NAS is overlooked as a storage platform.  It does some great things.  But alas, hard drives are cheap and SAN's are not.  Leaves NAS somewhat out in the cold.

I've used Openfiler at home for playing with iSCSI. Big learning curve and a little temperamental but otherwise works great. I've read a few posts online where people have installed it in soon-to-be-retired HUGE commercial NAS products with 100+ drives.
