We are going to revise our activity codes and this will involve "getting rid" of many of the original ones. Has anybody got any tips on doing this? I don't want to delete them so we preserve the history. I guess best way is to change description to e.g. "do not use"?

Me and TAM used to have a thing but we've split amicably. She got the kids, I got the Camaro and the maid.

We did that with several...description is now "DO NOT USE".  Too bad they can't be renamed to go to the bottom of the list!

Thanks Deb, that was my thought exactly!

One thing we did on some was change the default description to "See ABCD" being the proper code to use.

That is a good idea Lance.  Thanks for sharing.

I was at a Sandy Oliver class recently and she recommended putting just a "." in the description. Then they don't stop and read anything at all. Sounded interesting to me.

I tried that a while ago to make users put a proper description in, but it didn't work, they just left it as "." But then we have users who sometimes use the code at the top of the list (14DA) for any activity or diary. Go figure.  >:(

I'm very friendly on some of our codes.  The description that pops up (or prints) is: You did wrong!  Learn how.

It is amazing to see that things like that still are mailed out.

You should make those folks who don't use descriptions or who use the first activity code in the list search for something they did 2 years ago!  That'll change their tune!
