Mailing Attachments to Applied for data merge TAM to EPIC
« on: June 12, 2019, 04:05:29 pm »
Applied is requesting we mail the "attachment" files downloaded that are needed for the TAM to EPIC merge.

What did you use to download info on to?  Mini harddrive?, Flash drive?

Make sure you encrypt it!

Oh yeah - I think that was part of the extraction tool, wasn't it?

I printed mine in the wingdings font and tied it to the leg of a carrier pigeon.

Oh back to the day of being a nerd in school we used to encrypt our messages in wingdings when sending them in class.

I've always been a nerd, but obviously there are various degrees/levels of nerdiness, as I never encrypted anything via wingdings.  However, to this day my fingers (both hands) are still trained to display the Vulcan greeting, and there was a time when I could lift a single eyebrow.  (Both are harder than you would think  :o ). So that probably makes up for it!

I cannot believe in this day & age that A$ won't provide a secure way to upload these files.  Snail-mail them!!!  WHAT????

You can upload them, but it takes a very long time when you're talking large numbers of GB.  You do upload the data, but can ship the attachments on an external drive.  I think you can upload the attachments that were created between passes.  Sounds familiar, can't remember exactly.

I really like their process.  They basically sort of script it using free tools that I use myself.  WinSCP for secure file transfer (via ssh if you are a Linux nerd (speaking of nerds)).

I'm just going to copy to an external HD and will probably just drive it over to Applied.  It's only about 30 min from here.

That works!  Ask for a tour while you're there.   8)

Mark

I have been there MANY times....starting from 1996!!  I had to deliver the HD to the "dock" to get it logged in!!  Hopefully I did everything correctly (I DID follow their directions!).
