We just ordered a few HP t530 thin clients.  The guinea pig user has been unable to print to her HP LaserJet P2035 when logged into the terminal server.  Well, I should say that sometimes it prints, but if it does, there is a delay and it shifts everything down about an inch.  The driver is not translating when logging into the server.  This was not a problem with the previous thin client, which was a Wyse.  We already tried telling the thin client to use the universal driver and that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Make sure the universal driver on the server is fairly up to date, could be old.

Driver is up to date.  All of them are now.

Found out the thin client defaulted paper size to A4 when we added the printer.  Factory reset the thin client, recreated the printer.  Now it will print properly from Terminal Server, but only at first.  Then it is still getting flakey and some print jobs take forever and some disappear completely.

I'm wondering if we just need to get different thin clients.

Is anyone using thin clients that consistently work with HP printers?

I bought an HP 4015 printer a while back.  It was both noisy and took a long time to start printing.  It turns out there's a firmware upgrade that fixes those issues on that printer, so you may want to check it out on your printer too.  It seems like we have delays printing to all of our HP printers, however.  Not sure if that's Java-related somehow or what it is, but ever since HP made their printers accessible and configurable via web browser, we've had delays before printing.

We sent all of the thin clients back.  We are going to try a different one.  We had never had delays with the old thin clients.
