Need a recommendation on a small portable video projector thats on the durable side. We have a couple road warriors that need small, light projectors, and it seems that our Infocus LP70's are crapping out. All of them are having issues with the video getting cut off on either side. Granted its been 5 years but for the cost I would have hoped to go through a couple bulbs before these things needed repair.

Anyone have recommendations?

Found out the issue with the ones we have...apparently Samsung and Infocus are prone to this...but they use this part called a "light tunnel" which is basically 4 mirrors glued together to make a box. Apparently the glue doesn't take the heat from the bulb well, and falls apart.

The problem you see is shadows on the edges of the picture, like something is in the lens blocking it.

Figured I'd put it out there incase anyone else ran into this issue.

Going to try it this afternoon -  not sure on what glue to use yet but I have the projector 90% apart. I had to wait until today to bring in a fine torx set to get the last few screws out.

you know... you could just turn it into a laser, since it's already apart and everything.

Figured I'd update this - I was able to buy replacement light tunnels through an Infocus parts dealer, and fixed one so far successfully. Not a fun repair but not horrible either. Have 2 more to go...sigh. Don't know why I get myself into this stuff.
