I found a fix other than pulling your hair out trying to determine what driver or BIOS update and luck fixes.

If you Google Windows 7 or 8 App Not Responding, see pretty common and a bit elusive in resolving.   Seen it with TAM often having to update drivers to fix.  I had an Agency Principal get this several times a day with TAM and while it really didn't stop, it annoyed him and wanted it fixed.   I know it came from new Cannon printer he bought and added.  Problem began with it's addition.  Even though it has 64bit print drivers, it would still cause TAM to say 'Not responding" several times a day.

Manual fix to it is this:

Right click "Computer" choose properties.    Next choose Advance System Settings on the top left column of screen.   While on the advanced tab, go to performance click settings.

Three tabs appear, choose Data Execution Prevention.   Click the radio button for "Turn on DEP for all programs and services "except" those I select..

Click the "add" button browse and add TAMCLIENT.EXE.   Must be an executable file TAMCLIENT.EXE

Hit ok, let computer restart.  Worked here.  If troubleshooting and you've given up, this appears to make TAM stop behaving this way.

but what does it do to other applications?

TAM was the offending app not responding so by choosing to exclude TAM from DEP it doesn't generate the app not responding.

I'm troubleshooting from user input.   Only complained about TAM doing this so this fixed without having to dig deeper.
