Missing a Printer

OK, this is weird.   I am "missing" a printer on my Windows 7 workstation.  I can print to it in MS Word and other Windows programs, I can see the drivers and LPT1 port for it in print server properties, but the printer itself does not appear anywhere in devices and printers in control panel.  Since it is not the default printer (it should be), it's a constant hassle.  Any ideas?

OK.  It's been missing for 2 days and I just looked again and it's back.  :o ???  I'm sure it knows that I posted on AU and is falling into line in fear of the mighty power of AU!   ;)
