File association for pdf setting?

Situation:
My computer is Vista Business.
Since IT moved me to that, I have had problems opening pdf attachments to an email in etfile, or a pdf attachment in TAM.
IT did some more work today, and the file associations were totally broken.
Now I've got it where pdf docs open with Adobe fine outside of TAM - but inside TAM, and in etfile, back to the old program.

Any idea what is needed now?  Is it the the register needs something?  The error keeps saying need to set file association in control - but I did set the file association using the control panel.

Found an article in KBase on setting the association with Vista.  Didn't work for Adobe, but when I changed to pdf converter program, it works.
