Proposal Help

Afternoon all!! Anyone out here know how I can get the footer section from one page to stop flowing to the next pages? We've created two pieces to add into our proposal set up, if I merge them alone all is well, when I merge them in order, they get the footer from page 2 (it flows to pg 3 and 4, but pg 5 has its own footer). I do not want any footer on pg 2 and 3 :-( I've checked the footer set up in word and it is not set to link to previous section, but when it merges, that is set :-( plus the footer gets an HR from the Style applied to the footer above.

At my wits end on this stuff, i even checked Applied's knowledgeless base, but I couldn't even find a similar problem that has been reported in the log :-(

Also, did you check to ensure all of the parts of the proposal no longer have the TAM Proposal styles anywhere in them (assuming you've developed your own)?  Even a carriage return that is from their style can cause their stuff to suddently take over (bwaa-haa-haa).

I did try those instructions, the only thing it changed was adding a blank page after the third page :-(

Lance, how would I verify where the styles came from? We are on Office 2007, if that helps you point me in the right direction. Also, the new created pages are images of a marketing handout, sized to fit in a word doc. Thought I better add that , in case it adds to complexity of the problem.

In the "Home" view, click on the little arrow by "Styles".  That will show you a list of the styles used in the current document you have up. Also make sure you have the form display button (in "Paragraph" area) to show everything, such as carriage returns, etc.  Then, I'm sure there's a faster way, but if arrow down through the document, the "style" being used will be highlighted in the style display box at the right.

Anything that starts with "TAM" could override what you've done.  I found I had to get rid of ALL of them to avoid problems when I designed, if I started with their documents or used any of their documents in the proposal.

Excellent help Lance!! Thank you.  Fixing the  mixture of styles and adding spaces to the footers on the docs I wanted no footer on has solved this problem.
